Camp Snoopy at Knott's Berry Farm

Abrie was insisting that morning that Snoopy was going to LOVE her. Well, she was right. He gave her kiss and she was so happy! They had so much fun going on the rides. Some of them are scaled down versions of the adult's rides. AFter going on a rollercoaster with his dad, Sam insisted he wanted to go on the big wooden coaster. I wasn't sure it was a good idea, but I took him. I was nervous, and he was reassuring me that it would be fun. After the ride got going, I looked over at Sam. From the look on his face, I thought he was going to be sick. His eyes were huge and he was slouched down really low in the seat. We were both getting thrown around a lot. We both hated every minute of it, and I kept telling him it would be over soon. After that it took alot to convince him to go an any more rides. I was afraid the vacation was ruined for him, and it was just the first day! Fortunately I found a ride that I knew he would like and bothered him until he went on it with me. I was right, he loved it (The Pony Express) and we rode it two or three time before the park closed for the day to get ready for Halloween Haunt that night. It was a good time had by all.

Samuel, age 8

Sam is an all-or-nothing child. From before he was born he's been in a hurry to get somewhere and do something. Always busy, he's taken to getting out my cookbooks when he's bored and making something to eat. He makes excellent chocolate chip cookies! The wheels in his brain are constantly turning, and he needs a lot of direction to help him channel his energy and creativity. He is one of the most generous, nurturing souls I know and he is a wonderful older brother.

Jacob, age 7

Jake is our ray of sunshine. He goes through life with a smile on his face and something to eat in his hand. He is kind-hearted, and loves to be silly. He is also my most persevering child. If there is something he wants to do, he'll keep trying until he accomplishes it. He loves anything and everything on wheels. He has inline skates, a bike and a skateboard. He's taught himself to use all three. He also enjoys gymnastics. His teachers all love his sunny personality - he's just a charmer.

Abrie, age 5

Abrie is our song bird and sings from morning to night. When asked a question, she responds using a melody of her own creation. She can hear a song once or twice and remember many of the lyrics. She is very motivated when it comes to academics. She hasn't started school yet, but she can already read well and do basic addition and subtraction. She loves to dance and do gymnastics. She also loves to play with her sister. She is a very helpful girl and is my "listmaker". She is a very girly-girl and loves dresses, nail polish, jewelry and ribbons.

Elise, age 3

The baby of our family, Elise is proud to be growing up. She is so precious. She watches and learns from her older siblings daily. She loves to race people, but only if you let her win. She is our dancer. If she misses a chance to dance to music, she becomes upset. She even sneaks out of the pew at church and tries to dance in the aisle to hymns! She is petite, and speaks very clearly for her age, which always surprises people when they ask me how old my baby is and she answers, "My name is Elise and I'm three years old." She is a chatterbox and always has something to say. She will answer any question, and is full of questions of her own.
